The Insights discipline helps empower Rioters' decision-making to be more data-informed. As a Principal Insights Analyst for Player Platform at Riot, you will leverage data and competitive intelligence to inform the strategic direction of high opportunity areas within the platform technology organization at Riot. You will work directly with leaders across Player Platform spaces to report on the health of products, inform product strategy in a variety of areas which could include Matchmaking, Monetization, and Social and advise on problem and opportunity spaces to focus on. You will collaborate with Insights members embedded in initiatives to tackle problems, as well as mentor them in problem-solving and analytics craft.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with product leadership to understand impact and drive improvements to the holistic player experience 
  • Identify as well as investigate key problem or opportunity spaces and formulate recommendations and strategies for whether and how to pursue these
  • Analyze core business KPIs and drivers in collaboration with initiative Insights teams, and present findings and takeaways to leadership
  • Collaborate heavily with initiative producers and Insights teams to understand the product context and steward changes on the ground
  • Serve as the expert for Player Platform Insights on problem-solving approach and analytics craft, mentoring Insights members in these areas and guiding critical projects

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years experience in data analytics, business strategy, management consulting, or related fields
  • 5+ years experience in analyzing large data sets and visualizing complex information
  • 2+ years experience working in the games industry
  • Experience leading multi-person efforts 
  • Experience driving on efforts from end-to-end, including identification and pitching, through to action and impact
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and SQL/Python
  • Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working in game analytics, including areas around monetization, matchmaking, and/or social systems
  • Experience mentoring individuals in their craft or discipline, and growing them into seniority

For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes your fellow Rioters, who are the customers of your work. Being a dedicated fan of games is not necessary for this position!

  • (Los Angeles Only) Base salary range between $178,800.00 - $249,200.00 USD + incentive compensation + equity + 401K with company match + medical, dental, vision, and life insurance + short and long-term disability + open PTO.
