As a Competitive Operations professional focused on player and team operations, professional focused on player and team operations, your role is to design, implement, and manage systems to facilitate the autonomous coordination of Pro Players at International Events, including transportation and hotel booking. . This role will also work closely with the event manager, Competitive Operations Leads, and other counterparts in preparation for events, for events, and attend each event. This role will be responsible for the preparation and onsite leadership of player operations at International Events to include schedule creation, communication channels, etc. to include schedule creation, communication channels, etc., and managing a team of contractors to deliver event-centric logistical service and handling of Pro Players. While not at events, this role will focus on driving continuous assessment, improvement, and optimizations for effectiveness, efficiency, and alignment with Riot Esport priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Own player operations preparation for international events, including travel coordination, hotel bookings, team-specific schedules, communication channels, and more.
- Travel to international Tier 1 events and lead player operations onsite, managing contractors, overseeing logistical coordination of players and Teams and ensuring consistent processes and experiences across events.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to build, design, and implement the Player Operations program for International Events, including:
- Process Engineering end-to-end processes to enable Teams and Vendors to fulfill travel needs in an autonomous manner.
- Build, manage, and optimize cost frameworks that balance accuracy, cost effectiveness, predictability, and Pro Player comfort.
- Design and create key artifacts, tracking tools, and organizational systems to facilitate all necessary functions and effectively communicate knowledge and best practices with relevant parties.
- Build a selection, training, and onsite playbook for Player Handers at events.
- Continuously monitor and improve all aspects of the Player Operations function, including processes, technology, and personnel.
- Advise Teams and Players on responsibilities, necessary skill sets, and expectations for their personnel at events.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of supervisory / management experience for live events, including managing multiple teams and / or personnel onsite
- 3+ years with demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and owning cross functional processes with multiple diverse stakeholders
- 3+ years work experience in event logistics and coordination
- Demonstrated experience navigating and communicating in complex, adversarial environments, with emphasis on de-escalation and consensus building
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge in productivity tools like excel / google sheets; airtable; or other similar software.
- Ability for frequent, international travel (~50%)
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience or understanding with esports and / or gaming / esports community
- Multilingual capability (Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Chinese)
- Experience managing and overseeing high-profile individuals in or outside events (e.g., professional athletes, professional gamers, celebrities, influences, etc.)

- (Los Angeles Only) Base salary range between $142,900.00 - $199,600.00 USD + incentive compensation + equity + 401K with company match + medical, dental, vision, and life insurance + short and long-term disability + open PTO.
