Technical Product Managers at Riot blend deep technical expertise with product leadership to drive the development and deployment of critical products and tools. 

As a Principal Technical Product Manager you will join our Data Analytics organization. This role is pivotal in driving the design and implementation of data products and analytical solutions that empower data-driven decision-making across Riot. You will collaborate closely with business leaders, engineering, insights, and data science teams to define the vision and roadmap for data products, bringing technical expertise and a product management mindset to deliver high-impact, player-focused insights.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and own the product strategy and roadmap for data analytics products, aligning with Riot’s mission to enhance player experiences and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, data science, and analytics, to understand data needs, gather requirements, and translate them into actionable product specifications and development priorities.
  • Collaborate with the engineering teams to design, develop, and launch scalable data products, including reporting tools, dashboards, and predictive analytics solutions, ensuring that they meet high standards of performance, usability, and accuracy.
  • Provide technical direction and product management oversight and act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment on product vision and goals.
  • Champion a data-first approach to decision-making, defining KPIs, analytics requirements, and ensuring the availability of robust data products that drive insights into player behavior, engagement, and operational performance.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends in data analytics, predictive modeling, and data technologies. Drive innovation by identifying and implementing tools and methodologies that enhance data capabilities.
  • Ensure that all data products ultimately contribute to enhancing player experiences. Collect and synthesize user feedback to continuously improve data solutions and expand their impact.
  • Ensure all the teams within the group are aligned with that product vision.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of technical product management, with at least 5 years focused on technical or data-driven products.
  • 4+ years experience as product lead for large scoped products/teams
  • Proven track record in managing the lifecycle of data or analytics products, including successful deployment of scalable data solutions.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), big data processing tools (Spark, Hadoop), data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift) and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience working in or alongside data science teams, with a solid understanding of machine learning concepts and predictive analytics workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to articulate complex technical ideas to non-technical audiences.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders and technical teams in gaming, media, or related industries, advocating for a data-driven approach that balances creativity and analytics.

  • (Los Angeles Only) Base salary range between $218,300.00 - $304,300.00 USD + incentive compensation + equity + 401K with company match + medical, dental, vision, and life insurance + short and long-term disability + open PTO.
