Ukraine
The war in Ukraine has caused an expanding humanitarian crisis. Since it began, we’ve heard from players around the world that they want to help—and so do we.
In response to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, Riot committed $1,000,000 to support humanitarian efforts in the region and immediately activated in-game fundraisers across League of Legends, VALORANT, Legends of Runeterra, Teamfight Tactics, and Wild Rift to support relief efforts in the region. In just one week, players around the world came together to raise $4,400,000.
Together we raised a total of $5.4M - 100% of which has been donated across three nonprofits assisting with humanitarian aid efforts in Eastern Europe:
International Medical Corps
Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders
Polish Red Cross
The International Medical Corps (IMC), a global humanitarian aid nonprofit dedicated to providing emergency medical services, healthcare training, and development programs to those affected by disaster, disease, or conflict, has been long time partners to Riot in humanitarian aid and disaster relief, supporting over 19 disasters across 15 countries to date. With the war in Ukraine, IMC was one of the first responders in the area, and many Rioters stepped in to lend a helping hand, not only through fundraising and donations, but directly with on the ground efforts as well.
Ukrainian and Eastern European Rioters worked together to create a “Learning & Integrating Through Gaming” initiative for displaced Ukrainian children and teenagers living in Poland, with the primary goal of helping them learn the local language, meet new friends, find a sense of belonging, and integrate into the local community in creative and fun ways. Participants attended art classes, learned Polish, created their own cosplay costumes, and played team-based video games together.
