David Xu
David Xu is the Executive Producer of League of Legends: Wild Rift where he oversees the end to end player experience for the game which means from the moment a player considers a competitive game, to learning a Mobile MOBA, to downloading Wild Rift all the way to Legendary Queue and reaching a high collection score. He is constantly thinking about short term and long term goals to enhance the entire player journey to ensure that players get tailored experiences which satisfies both their needs and motivations.
Before coming to Riot, David was a Research Manager at Info-Tech Research Group. He specialized in the areas of Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, and Crisis Management. Riot was the only gaming company that David ever considered working for. He played League of Legends religiously and felt there was nowhere else he’d want to work. His passion as a player quickly turned into passion for the company, culture, and player-first mission.
Born in Beijing China, David immigrated to Vancouver, Canada when he was in elementary school. He received his degree in Honours Business Administration (HBA) from the Ivey School of Business at University of Western Ontario. If he’s not queuing up to play League, you will probably find David playing one of his many board games. His wall-sized board game collection helps him exercise his designer dream, gives frequent learning opportunities with each new game, and adds a ton of flavor during social gatherings. His favorite board game has to be Heat:Pedal to the Metal, a racing board game that actually makes you feel like you are in the cockpit of a F1 racer.
