As a Senior People Team Strategy & Planning Program Manager, you will play a critical role in making the People Team’s work more focused, impactful, and rewarding by supporting the people team rhythm of business, business operations, and strategic programs and projects. Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategy & Planning, you will collaborate closely with the HR leadership team, HR Business Partner Leads, Centers of Excellence (COEs), Riot business leaders, Riot’s central planning teams, Communications, and other internal partners to deliver on organizational needs. Your role will involve deeply understanding the People Team and Riot’s ways of working, maintaining in-flight practices and rituals, identifying opportunities for improvement, and building operational infrastructure and agile solutions that enhance the People Team’s performance and overall effectiveness in addition to priority People Team projects.

Responsibilities:

Planning and rhythm of business operations

    • Advance the People Team’s program & project management tools, capabilities, and capacity-planning skills; integrate into the People Team’s ways of working to keep People priorities on track
    • Manage processes, rituals, and tools that support workload optimization, resourcing, planning, and prioritization, etc. 
    • Develop materials and facilitate work/planning/discussions to define and monitor progress of annual priorities and deliverables, including supporting information communications for leaders to cascade to teams
    • Create & align agendas, secure presenters, design materials, and manage communications for People Team rituals with Riot leadership (i.e. Talent Ritual), People leadership team (i.e. People Leads), People Town Halls, and other emerging collaboration and communication forums
    • Facilitate planning offsites to drive collaboration, alignment, team connection, etc.

Project Management of strategic initiatives

    • Lead and facilitate cross-functional project and program management efforts, to ensure success of priority People Team initiatives
    • Drive collaboration across teams, managing diverse and complex projects to ensure timely execution and delivery of key outcomes in alignment with strategic objectives
    • Facilitate and project manage collaborative, cross-functional project teams composed of multiple stakeholders and subject matter experts, coordinating work across teams to achieve Riot-level outcomes that support the organization’s strategic priorities
    • Manage dependencies, scope negotiation, and ensure effective collaboration and communication between and across teams working on various programs and initiatives
    • Provide regular, ongoing reporting and communications to stakeholders, business leadership, and People Team leadership regarding the status and outcomes of initiatives, ensuring transparency and alignment with strategic objectives. Tailor presentations to meet audience needs
    • Deliver high-level insights and strategic commentary to executive audiences, presenting key findings, recommendations, and takeaways in a clear and concise manner that supports strategic decision-making

Change management

    • Act as a change agent and effectively design and utilize change management methodologies when deploying solutions and processes 
    • Develop resources for leaders, managers, Rioters, and relevant People team partners
    • Partner with Internal Communications to develop engaging and high impact communications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Strong planning and program management skills and experience leading cross-functional, complex, and large scale initiatives 
  • 6+ years of program/project management experience in a similar role at a fast-growing tech company or consulting/professional services organization; preference for work in the Human Resources field
  • Strong task-orientation and organization management skills with experience running complex, global programs
  • Strong attention to detail and experience communicating effectively with partners at all levels of the organization (preferably strong written, PowerPoint/Google Slides,  and presentation skills)
  • Proven track record of juggling multiple work streams while achieving great results
  • Appropriate balance of subject matter expertise and pragmatism of how to apply theory in a business environment
  • Critical thinker with the ability to take a data-informed, analytical approach to solving complex problems
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and adapting to shifting priorities while driving impactful results
  • Ability to build deep relationships and effectively partner cross-functionally and globally
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and drive outcomes that align with broader business objectives

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience applying Agile, Kanban, Scrum, or Lean development process and practices
  • Professional project management certification, such as PMP, CSM, etc. 
  • Broad knowledge of facilitation techniques and approaches

These duties are directly related to essential operations, safety, trust, and compliance obligations within our organization.   • (Los Angeles Only) Base salary range between $142,900.00 - $199,600.00 USD + incentive compensation + equity + 401K with company match + medical, dental, vision, and life insurance + short and long-term disability + open PTO.
